Bar Harbor, Tender to pier, Take the Island explorer to Sand Beach (Loop three) Thunder Hole, Otter Cliff.   Just walk up the hill to Village Green, Find the bus loop you want to do, hop on and hop off at the sites.   We packed a lunch from the ship, very relaxing day.

New York, Red Hook, Enchanted Princess September 21, 2024

 

It is possible to visit Ellis Island on turnover over day.  Or if you have time before the ship sails.  Take south Brooklyn route from Red Hook to Wall Street.  Purchase tickets at the ferry, just to the left of the ship.  Walk to Castle Clinton in Battery Park.  Purchase tickets at the park.  Ferry to and tour Statue of Liberty and Eilis Island.  Take ferry from Wall Street to Red Hook.  Walk back to the ship.  We were able to see everything we wanted to see without spending an extra in New York.  We did visit the Muesum first and was not crowded at all, then went to see the Statue.   If you want to visit the top, you must purchase in advance.   Fun day, we were happy that we could do this on our own.

Very relaxing tour, motor coach, to Peggys Cove, then a drive to the Titanic Resting Place.   Included free time at Peggy's Cove for shopping and pictures.  Our tour was from 12:30-4:00 pm

Newport RI, Enchanted Princess September 22, 2024

 Take the RIPTA bus to Memorial Blvd and Bellevue Ave.  Walk to begin the Cliff Walk.  There is a map.  Or go to the beach for the day.

The Breakers, exit the cliff walk and purchase tickets on-site, we toured the Breakers and the Marble House.   

Resting before taking the bus back to the port.  Bus stops in front of the Mansons.  Very easy excursion to do on your own.  

Boston, Massachusetts, 2nd stop on Enchanted Princess September 16, 2024, Freedom Trail

We arrived in Boston Cruise Port, walked off the ship, go left and look for the bus stop, very easy to find, right across the street.   Use silver line 2 To South Station.  Get off at the South Station and walk to Boston Common.  Just use phone for directions, a short ten- minute walk and go to the Visitors Center. (restrooms available) They offered us a walking tour with a guide for only $25.00 pp.  The tour was approx. 2 1/2 hours.  It was money well spent, the guide with the park service was very knowledgeable.  The last four stops of the Freedom trail are on your own.  When finished with the tour we went to the old Church on our own and to a Bova's bakery to enjoy cannoli's.   Then walked back to south Station to get back to the ship.   The bus driver stopped right in front of the ship.
